Point Truth Primitive Baptist Church of Nickelsville, VA
Saturday September 1st 1866 After being regular constituted into a Church at Point Truth Meeting house. The Moderator Morgan T. Lipps called the Church to order and she chose Elder David Jessee sr, pastor and Moderater and Calvin S. Dean Clk. And received by exsperance and baptism four; to wit, David P. Jessee, Samuel Kilgore, Amy Collier and Mary A. Ramy. The Church desired on the second Saturday and Sunday in each Month to hold her Church Meeting then adjourned until the Second Saturday and Sunday in Oct 1866. Done and signed by order of the Church. Saturday October 13th 1866 The Church met at Point Truth according to adjournment, and after preaching services by Elder David Jessee the Church being called to order by her Moderater and open the Church doore for the reception of members. none came forward, then called upon the Clerk for references and there was none, then she taken up the case of the appointment and ordination of a deacon and refered it to the November Meeting and adjourned. Saturday November 10th 1866 The Church met at Point Truth according to adjournment, and after preaching services by Elder Ira Culbertson and David Jessee The Church was called to her seats by her moderater and open the doore for the reception of members none came forward, then called upon the Clerk for references, who brought forward the case of the appointment of a deacon which was refered to the next Church meeting, then called upon the Church for Church grievences and there was none, and adjourned. Saturday December 8th 1866 The Church met at Point Truth according to adjournment and after preaching services by Elder David Jessee the Church was called to her seats by her Moderater and open the Church doore for the reception of members and none came forward, then called upon the Clerk for references, he brought forward the case of the appointment of a deacon, which was continued to the next Church meeting, then called on the Church for Church grievances and there was none. The Church then set apart the June and September meetings for her communion seazons and adjourned. Done and signed by order of the Church. Elder David Jessee Moderater. Calvin S. Dean Clerk
Saturday January 12th 1867 The Church met at Point Truth according to adjournment and after preaching services by Elder David Jessee the Church then being called to order and the doore opened for the reception of members and none came forward then called upon the Clerk for references, who brought forward the case of the appointment of a deacon which the Church tuck action on and appointed Calvin S. Dean and also petition the beloved brethren to wit, Elders Wm. Addington and M.T. Lipps to be at her March term for form a presbytery to ordain a deacon. Then called on the Church for Church grievences and there was none, then the Church adjourned till the Second Saturday and Sunday in February 1867. Done and signed by order of the Church. Saturday January 19th 1867 The Church met at the Fugate School-House according to appointment and after preaching services the Church doore being opened for the reception of member and received two by exsperance and baptism, namely Eligah Hicks and Eliza his wife.
