Walter H. Nickels authorization to perform marriages, October 9, 1855

Scott Co., VA Minute Book 12, Page 75

The court deeming it expedient doth appoint & authorize Walter H. Nickels to celebrate the writes of Matrimony in this county & thereupon the said Walter H. Nickels together with James O. Wood & John Daugherty his security entered into & acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $1500.00 conditioned as the law directs.
